About GBSA

The Gulf Bond and Sukuk Association (GBSA) is the non-profit member organisation that speaks with a single harmonized voice for the region’s rapidly evolving debt capital market.

GBSA is the non-profit member organization through which leading Middle East capital market participants speak with a  harmonized  voice, share knowledge and make critical connections.   Member firms are industry-leading issuers, investment managers, banks, market infrastructure and service providers, ratings agencies and legal advisors.  We forge consensus across our community and advocate with governments, central banks and regulators  to deepen our markets and deliver value to our members.

GBSA’s  working  groups gather market leaders around key issues in Islamic Finance, Fintech, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) investing, Public Debt Issuance, Market Regulation and Investor Relations.   GBSA sets market practices, facilitates communication with the global investment community and raises awareness of debt capital markets among companies.

We provide platforms for targeted discussions and host prominent speakers, thereby ensuring that members receive opportunities to demonstrate leadership and make helpful connections. GBSA  coordinates closely with global and regional official institutions  such as International Monetary Fund, World Bank, Islamic Development Bank and Arab Monetary Fund, among others.

The expansion of the Middle East  debt capital market and its integration into the global emerging market universe reflects GBSA’s role, which has grown in parallel.
